To quote Ronald Reagan, "There they go again." The Republicans are trying to stop another national election from reaching it's final conclusion. They have the "results" they want, so there is no need to process the public voting process any longer.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed a lawsuit - - - on behalf of his own party, apparently - - - aimed at stopping the Michigan recount requested legally by Jill Stein. The text of his appeal does nothing to prove that a recount is harmful or even unnecessary, only that a conclusion has been reached, and the State of Michigan must be right until proven wrong, and that there should be no process followed to prove that it's wrong.
Yes, that's a convoluted line of "reasoning".
But it's emblematic of how Republicans are "thinking" right now.
The Schuette lawsuit will go directly to the Michigan Supreme Court, and presumably, carry forward to the United States Supreme Court by whichever party is ruled against by the MSC.
Does this sound familiar?
It's the same thing Republicans did in Florida in 2000.
The Bush v. Gore lawsuit was originated by Republicans who simply wanted vote-counting to stop, since the original count gave their candidate the victory.
