The last year of political life in the United States has been like a reality-show version of the Marvin Gaye song "What's Goin' On?" 

Except that Marvin and the rest of us KNEW what was going on around 1970, and it was plenty bad. In this verse, we really did not know "what's goin' on" with the whole Trump movement, the Russia connection, and so forth. We have been spectators to an unprecedented suspense/horror/drama/adventure movie - - - in real life - - - that has largely made no sense at all.

QUICK SYNOPSIS:  Exxon has purchased rights to drill oil in more than 60-million acres of Russian land. The sanctions against Russia have stopped those projects from moving forward. The Exxon properties in Russia represent more than half of all the properties worldwide that Exxon can explore. If Exxon can get the United States to be "more friendly" with Russia, the sanctions could be lifted, and Exxon would be in line to make trillions, if not quadrillions of dollars in the coming years. 

BOTTOM LINE:  This is all about OIL MONEY. Trump has been compromised and Putin is extorting him to open up drilling in Russia. The profits from these projects will enrich Trump and Putin, and may give rise to the return of the U.S.S.R.
